The Kochi Mud race show 2012 for the speed lovers will be held at Panangad (Near Lake shore Hospital)  Synthite ground on 25th and 26th of February 2012.The thrilling show will forecast the speed and adventure of the bike lovers.

The 6th India International Aqua Show, an exhibition of ornamental fishes and accessories, at the Jawaharlal Nehru International stadium Kaloor which was supposed to end on 14/2/2012 was extended for one more day and the show will go on untill 15/2/2012.

The first phase of the much awaited smart city project will begin on Oct 2011.This was announced by the Chief Minister Mr Oommen Chandy afer having discussions with the TECOM officials.

Tecom would reopen its office in kochi on August 31.The foundation stone for the headquarters building would be laid before Oct 2011 and would complete the first phase within an year.

The minister for Industries and Information and technology Mr P.K Kunhalikutty and Additional Chief secretary T Balakrishnan are appointed  as Directors.

Former Kerala minister A Sujanapal who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode passses away.He was 62.He was a prominenet congress leader and was elected to the state Legislative assembly twice during 1991 and 2001. He was inducted in the former Oommen Chandy ministry as minister of Forests, after the resignation of the then minister Mr K P Viswanathan.

He was under treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode due to cancer.His body will be cremated at 12 noon tomorrow at Mavhoor road crematoriam.The body will be kept at his residence at Gopalapuram till 9am tomorrow for the general public to pay homage for their respected leader and from there it will be taken to  kozhikode DCC where he had served as a leader.The body will also be kept at the Town Hall from10-12 noon .

The worlds largest floating library “Logos Hope” had extended its visit at kochi till June 21-26 June.This is due to a schedule change of the vessel.According to the earlier schedule the vessel was opened to the  public till June 13.The vessel had earlier anchored in the North Kole berth of Willingdon Island.The ship has a collection of thousands of books.General public can enter the ship from Morning 10am to Night 8pm from Tuesday to Saturday.On Sundays and Mondays the entry time is from 2pm.Ticket charge is Rs 50/- per head.Entry is free for children upto 16 years old.For each ticket a book will be given as a gift.

The conference headed by the Chief Minister Mr.Oomen Chandy,Delhi Metro Chairman Mr E Sreedharan and the Minister for food and consumer affairs Mr K.V.Thomas have resorted to press the Central Government to sanction the project on the Chennai or Bangalore model. According to this about 15% of the project cost  should be borne by the centre as well as the state.About 50% is to be funded by the Japans overseas developement project or loan from Indian financial institutions.It also said that the land needed for construction of road and other infrastructure may be acquired with in five weeks and the displaced people will be rehabilitated at Pullepady. Mr Sreedharan also announced that work would start within 10 days of Government marking the land and providing other facilities.

Vegetable seedlings are ready for sale at the Vegetable and Fruit Promotion  council office at Kakkanad.Tomato,Chilly,Ladies finger,Bitter Gourd,Snake Gourd are some of the seedlings ready for sale.Seedlings for sale in trays can be purchased at Rs2/-and those in kits cost Rs5/-.
